Engineering Excellence for the Burj Khalifa

The construction of the Burj Khalifa placed extraordinary demands on concrete production. Strict specifications required absolute precision in batching, maximum weighing accuracy, and consistently high concrete quality throughout the project.

As one of the world’s most iconic construction projects, the 828-meter-tall Burj Khalifa demanded uncompromising reliability from every process involved in supplying concrete.

GPE WEBCon Delivers Maximum Accuracy

To support the project, UNIMIX, one of the leading ready-mix concrete producers in the UAE, operated two dedicated batching plants near the construction site, each with a production capacity of 120 m³ per hour.

To meet the project’s stringent quality requirements, GPE was commissioned to modernize the existing control technology. Within just four days, the previous system was removed, the complete wiring adapted, and the GPE WEBCon control system installed. Production resumed on the fifth day without delay.

The WEBCon system met all regulatory and project-specific requirements while delivering exceptional dosing accuracy for all concrete components, including microsilica and ice. Its proven performance on the Burj Khalifa project laid the foundation for its successful deployment in numerous batching plants across the Middle East today.

Concrete mixing plants for the Hamad International Airport

The New Doha International Airport is one of the largest infrastructure projects in the Middle East, designed to accommodate up to 50 million passengers and 2 million tons of air cargo annually. For this landmark project, GPE supplied and commissioned two high-performance batching plants, each with a production capacity of 150 m³ per hour. Engineered for maximum reliability, productivity, and concrete quality, the plants incorporate state-of-the-art mixing and batching technology.

Each plant features powerful twin-shaft mixers, advanced aggregate dosing systems, and extensive cement storage capacity to ensure uninterrupted production even during peak demand. Integrated camera systems allow operators to monitor concrete consistency throughout the mixing process, while high-efficiency dust filtration systems provide environmentally friendly, low-emission operation. Together, these technologies guarantee outstanding quality and operational performance.

Both batching plants are controlled by GPE’s proprietary WEBCon software, providing intuitive operation, complete process visualization, and comprehensive reporting capabilities. Full integration into the customer’s network ensures transparent production management and real-time access to operational data across the organization. This successful project highlights GPE’s expertise in delivering innovative batching plant solutions for some of the world’s most demanding construction projects.

State-of-the-Art Batching Plants for Dubai Creek Harbour

Dubai Creek Harbour is one of the largest and most ambitious developments in the Middle East, designed to become Dubai’s largest walkable community. To support the enormous concrete demand of this landmark project, Rakmix Readymix LLC selected GPE to supply two state-of-the-art semi-mobile batching plants for on-site concrete production. The project further strengthens GPE’s reputation as a leading supplier of advanced batching solutions for iconic construction projects across the region.

GPE installed two fully galvanized 120 m³/h semi-mobile batching plants featuring advanced aggregate handling, high-precision weighing systems, and proven BHS twin-shaft mixers. The plants incorporate microwave moisture measurement technology, extensive cement and micro-silica storage, and efficient dust filtration systems to ensure consistent concrete quality while meeting the highest environmental standards. Their foundation-free steel frame design also enables faster installation and greater flexibility on site.

Both batching plants are operated by GPE’s WEBCon control system, delivering intuitive operation, real-time process monitoring, and highly accurate production control. Already proven on major projects such as the Burj Khalifa, New Doha International Airport, Palm Island, and Doha Metro, WEBCon combines reliability with maximum operational efficiency. Together with GPE’s comprehensive after-sales support, local spare parts availability, and experienced service team, the solution ensures long-term performance and dependable production throughout the project.

WEBCon control system in Maputo, Mozambique

GPE successfully completed the installation of its WEBCon control system in Maputo, Mozambique, modernizing a concrete batching plant originally commissioned in 2008. The existing control system was upgraded to the latest WEBCon software, significantly enhancing the plant’s performance and operational capabilities. The project was carried out for our long-standing customer, SHAFA AL NAHDAH BUILDING CONTRACTING LLC.

The new WEBCon system provides complete visualization of the production process, real-time production monitoring, and intuitive plant operation. It also enables centralized supervision of multiple batching plants via a standard web browser, seamless ERP integration, and secure remote service capabilities. These features help increase productivity, reduce operating costs, and improve overall plant efficiency.

With advanced tools for preventive maintenance and remote diagnostics, WEBCon enhances operational reliability while minimizing downtime. The successful installation in Maputo demonstrates GPE’s expertise in modernizing existing batching plants with future-ready automation technology.
